First official Cub Scout Farm Tour.



We use army helmets to feed our calves with. The boys grabbed the helmets and conquered the straw stack!

Busy trying to get the crops planted, too busy to be posting on the blog but doing it anyway. In the top picture dad is planting barley while I am plowing the last third of the field that we were unable to get plowed before the ground froze too hard last fall. When we get those last ten acres of barley in we will be done with our grain and move on to thirty acres of alfalfa. The second picture is when I was plowing the field last fall.

I was out in the field a couple of months ago making tracks with the tractor in the snow so I could take a few loads of manure out and found this track in the snow. Looks like a hawk came down and caught a mouse. I wonder how much snow he got with his mouse?


Here is a close up that shows the trail the mouse left and you can see where the talons landed in front of where the wings hit.
